951.696.9669Freedom Forever LLC, headquartered in Temecula, California, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware on April 15, 2026 (Case 26-10522).
At the time of filing:
In the weeks before the filing, the Texas Attorney General named Freedom Forever in a "major initiative" to crack down on solar companies engaged in fraudulent and deceptive practices.
Customers reported canceled service appointments, dropped warranty claims, and being unable to reach anyone at the company. Many had repairs scheduled the same week the bankruptcy was filed.
Freedom Forever was based in Temecula. While they operated nationally, a meaningful share of their customers are right here in Southwest Riverside County. ElectriCare has been installing solar in this same region since 2000 — same family, same license, same phone number. We're not going anywhere.
Headlines may say "all warranties are void." That's only partly true. The equipment warranties are separate from Freedom Forever's company warranties.
If you have a lease or PPA with Freedom Forever, your contract is an asset that the bankruptcy court will likely sell to a new service provider. The new owner typically continues the contract. You should still receive service — if you're not, document everything and consider filing a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
If you financed through Mosaic, GoodLeap, or Sunlight Financial, the FTC Holder Rule may give you legal protections. Talk to a consumer attorney before continuing payments on a non-functioning system.
Six concrete things we do for customers stranded by Freedom Forever's closure.
← Back to all orphan solar helpWe come out, inspect the system, identify your equipment, and document its current condition. No charge for the visual assessment.
If Freedom Forever started but didn't finish your system, we can quote the completion work separately and get you producing.
We pull serial numbers, confirm what's covered with each manufacturer, and file claims directly. Most claims require a certified installer.
Freedom Forever's customer portal is unreliable. We reconnect to native manufacturer monitoring (Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla).
Failed inverter, microinverter, or battery? We diagnose, source warranty replacements, and install with our in-house electricians.
Murrieta-based since 2000. CSLB #778366. Same family ownership. Freedom Forever was local too — but we'll still be here in 10 years.
Tell us about your system and current symptoms. Same-business-day response.
Document everything (contracts, payments made, work completed). File a claim with the bankruptcy court — Case 26-10522, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. You may also have rights under the FTC Holder Rule if you financed through a third party. ElectriCare can quote completion of the install separately.
No. Most equipment is still under manufacturer warranty, but warranty claims require a certified installer to file them. Waiting just means more time without your system producing. Schedule an inspection.
Almost certainly not. Recent customer reports indicate Freedom Forever has stopped responding to service requests. ElectriCare can take over service.
A free inspection identifies what's covered under warranty (panels, microinverters, inverter, battery) and what's out of pocket (labor, anything not covered). We quote everything upfront. No surprises.
Possibly. Watch the bankruptcy proceedings. But don't wait for that — manufacturer warranties on the equipment itself are independent of who installed your system.
