Aurora inverters, originally manufactured by Power-One and later absorbed into ABB and then Fimer, were widely installed on residential solar systems in the 2008-2014 range. The platform has since been discontinued, which materially changes the service picture for homeowners who still have one in operation.
Common Aurora Error Codes

Ground Fault / Insulation Fault: Indicates a wiring insulation issue on the DC side — common on systems this age due to connector and cable degradation over 12+ years.
Grid Fault: The inverter has detected out-of-range grid conditions. Occasional faults are often transient; frequent recurrence points to a wiring or component issue.
Internal Fault / No Display: Given the age of most Aurora units still in service, a hard internal failure — fan, capacitor, or power board — is the most common cause of a dead or unresponsive unit at this point.
Why Aurora Owners Have Fewer Options
Aurora as a brand no longer exists in an active support capacity. Replacement parts are increasingly scarce, and warranty coverage on units this old has almost certainly expired. For most homeowners still running an Aurora inverter, full replacement — not repair — is the realistic path forward, both because of part scarcity and because a 12-15+ year old inverter is near or past its practical service life regardless.
